Community Kitchen of Torrington received $9,500 from the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal through its Vicariate Outreach Program. The funding will help the kitchen continue its mission to serve a nutritious meal daily to food insecure people of northwestern Connecticut.
“Due to the pandemic, the Community Kitchen of Torrington has been unable to sponsor its normal fund raisers such as the Empty Bowls event,” explains George Craig, President of the Board of Directors for the Community Kitchen. “But we still have served a daily nutritious meal, to go, from the kitchen’s window. We are so fortunate to benefit from the generosity of the Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. The donation helps to defray some of the high costs of serving meals as carry-outs.”
